Not the reason

Leaving Christ out of Christmas

I wrote a post about this a few days ago andnever posted it. It wasn't well thought out and didn't come together like I wanted. So I leave it to Slate to say how I feel about religion and holidays.

Thanks for posting it, I really enjoyed it. We pretty much feel the same way, but I hate how my family tries to constantly push on us what they want us to believe. My mom wanted Rowan to go to church, I pointed out something about how we were his parents- and she said that she was his grandma- like that somehow how meant she got a say in how he's raised. Both boys got Bibles for Xmas- we have so many in our house from family and none of them have ever been opened and now we have more!

We've decided that for next year we are going to celebrate all different religions that have something around Christmas (well maybe not all), but we'll let the boys learn about all of them, I'm excited about it because I've never really learned much about anything other than Christianity, I think we are going to try and make a "traditional" meal too.
