Fun Start to my kid free weekend

I got the kids all packed off for their weekend without me about 8. I had time to eat breakfast and get ready to leave before Makeup Girl and her kids picked me up to go blueberry picking. She was super sweet and brought me some iced coffee for our trip to the country! :)

Berry picking was a little slim. :( There were several bushes that, in a few days, will be perfect. They were overflowing with green berries but they just weren't ready yet. There were also several bushes that just had nothing on them at all, except bugs. We ended up being there about 45 minutes before the bugs and the heat got to us and we decided to leave. I came home, had lunch and took a quick nap.

Then this afternoon, Rogers and I went shopping for swimsuits. I found nada :( However Rogers for a cute bikini top and we had a good time chatting and getting to know each other (finally, I hear Looseyfur and Quigs talk about her all the time but we haven't had a chance to hang out much). We found that we have wildly different tastes in clothing, but that is ok. :)

Now I'm going to go grill some ribs and maybe make corn for dinner and then I'm going to watch Lost and then I'm going to go to bed so I can go shopping up north with Quigs and Loosey tomorrow.

Yeah, um, the four of us are a little bit like a bad teen novel. It's kind of sad that we're so predictable.

And did Rogers pull out the midwestern mom clothes? Sometimes the Lorane (her mom) in her takes over... and ya gotta reel her back in.

Plus, sometimes I'm like -- you're little, you can get away with wearing something a little more daring! And we come home with cargo pants on sale at J.Jill for $9. So she ends up in the tiny petite sizes. And I end up in the plus sizes... and usually our selection is so minimal we can both bitch about it.

It's how she and I are able to compromise when we shop.

Of course, the big excitement is that all the summer stuff is on sale and the fall stuff is out.

(Have I said before how much I love black and gray?)

Ooooh...maybe we can be like the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants and we can all find a pair of jeans that fit!

But then I would wear them and my big ass would stretch them out and no one could wear them again. ;)

But see, that was the magic of the pants. The tall athletic girl, the short skinny girl, the heavy girl and the "Gilmore Girl" could all wear them LOL

See, i didn't write this in my first comment, but Rogrs and I talked about it BEFORE I posted.

"It's like we're the freaking Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants!" Loosey said.

"I'm Alexis Bleidel, aren't I?"

"Yup, which I guess would make me Blake Lively, Quigs America Ferrera and Freak Amber Tamblyn..."

If you disagree, you can criticize me while I'm a captive audience in Mr. Quigs' car tomorrow.

That is absolutely what I thought, too!

We need to find a magic diaper bag and start a new series.
